Concerning Thanksgiving and All its Environs

So this is one of my first sonnets. And it is on Thanksgiving. Do keep in mind sonnets usually have a twist at the end. Happy reading. :D
----------------------------------------------------
I sit at the southern shore and look at the bounty set forth
I consider the crushed cranberries to the east
I see the vast mountain of a toasted Tom at the north
I ponder the potatoes to the west
How the gravy glows!
How the rooms aroma’s call to the sniffer!
How the eyes are called to the corn’s fence rows!
How the table delights – inciting laughter!
Hands held and intertwined from North to South
Friends and family unite in a simple prayer
Thankful for joy, on this day not one part untruth
We coat the chart in a grateful spirit, on this day not rare
Oh! Tomorrow is Black Friday
Hurry! Christmas is days away
