The wall is a pale peach, painted, but faint
You, back against it, say you might faint.
Under my brown leather Sketchers
There are pebbles spread like litter
They crunch under our feet as we move
Our feet shuffle with nothing to prove
The wind is cold on my bare chest
This won’t work, it suggests
Our lips meet
I feel heat
It is dry. There are few grass reeds
The only green is from weeds
We playfully explore deeper
Suddenly my heart is a geyser!
Once we were free to talk openly
Now we kiss sneakily
Once I wrote on your Facebook wall
Now we meet behind this wall
When we were free we had no clue,
Now I know there is more to me and you
Before we liked openly
Now we love quietly
A disaster meant to rip and tear
Did nothing but our souls bear
Yes, we do stand behind this wall pale and faint
That is why you are in my arms ready to faint

the rythm was a little choppy here. you whent for an AA,BB,CC which does lend itself for a more choopy and disconnected poem. i also felt vaguely dirt reading this. while ti doesn't have explicit content it just felt kind of... off.
ReplyDeleteThe dirty is taste (though it is only kissing, I am not sure if you think it is further, some people did).
ReplyDeleteBut I am wondering if you really think it is choppy, because my profesor said he liked its rhythm. I guess this could be a matter of taste too maybe...
